LandOpt is a dynamic service organization that helps a select group of regionally based landscape contractors dramatically improve their business performance.

We are not consultants who swoop in to offer advice or a quick fix to company problems. We do not buy out landscaping companies, or offer franchises that follow a cookie-cutter format.

We work side-by-side with company management under a licensing agreement that provides proven business tools and processes. When contractors are Powered by LandOpt, they not only grow, they become more profitable and productive.

Our goal is to help landscape contractors create a client-focused culture that results in measurable, sustainable growth.

Don Evans brings a diverse range of experience, leading teams to sustainable growth in manufacturing and service industries. While he began his business life as a corporate lawyer, Don has spent the majority of his career in customer-facing and solutions-focused roles. As President of LandOpt, Don is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and providing leadership by establishing and implementing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies.

Don began his career in the green industry at the age of 4, growing up on a 225-acre family farm in Virginia.  He holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs/Economics from George Washington University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia.

Andrew Dickson

As a Success Coach, Andrew works closely with the LandOpt team to deliver mentoring, training, tools and support to the LandOpt Licensee Network. Andrew is responsible for guiding contractors from the initial kickoff phase through the transformation process which includes, but is not limited to, weekly PAR calls, monthly site visits, and role-specific training in the Pittsburgh training center.

As a previous landscape business owner, Andrew is well-versed in business management, understanding both the daily challenges a company can face and the importance of systems, processes and tools in improving productivity and profitability. Prior to his landscape industry experience, he spent several years in the marketing and advertising agency world where he had significant project management responsibility that involved both strategic planning and the development of print, digital and online deliverables. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, as well as a BA in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

As a Success Coach, Glenn works closely with the Success Coaching team to deliver products and services to the LandOpt Network of Contractors through coaching, training and mentoring support. Glenn is responsible for guiding contractors from the initial kick-off phase through the transformation process which includes, but is not limited to, weekly PAR calls, monthly site visits and role-specific training in the Pittsburgh training center.

As a Recruitment Manager, Glenn works closely with the LandOpt network contractors as requested to manage sourcing, interviewing and the employment process. In this role, he designs, creates, and directs hiring initiatives as clients seek new talent for their organization.

Glenn’s career background in sales, leadership and operations management leaves him well-suited for this role, as does his previous experience in a franchise business environment.

As a Success Coach, Chris works closely with the LandOpt team to deliver mentoring, training, tools and support to the LandOpt Licensee Network. With management and consulting background, Chris is a perfect fit for a LandOpt Success Coach. He most recently worked as a manager of a retail store, and as a strategic consultant for Dewolff, Boberg, & Associates. As a strategic consultant, Chris coached frontline supervisors through the C-Suite on implementing new systems, improving throughput, cost savings, and data and trend analysis. Chris has received his bachelor’s degree from the Western Governors University in IT Management as well as a professional certificate in Project Management from PMI.

Kristen Martin

As the Executive Office Manager, Kristen plans and organizes day-to-day activities as well as delivers customer service and general support to the LandOpt team guaranteeing the office runs smoothly. Along with communicating with existing and prospective Licensees, she assists with LandOpt's marketing efforts. Kristen's extensive experience in providing support to internal staff, attention to detail, and relationship building skills makes her a fit perfect for the position.

Kristen graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences. After graduating and working as an assistant at an Emergency Veterinary hospital, she gained valuable customer service and administrative skills, in which she brought to LandOpt.

Alison Blobner
Director, Marketing & Sales

As the Director of Marketing and Sales, Alison is directly responsible for adding new Licensees by both qualifying and educating landscape contractors on the benefits of the LandOpt Network. Her focus includes regional growth within our existing Licensee base, with an eye toward ultimately expanding the Network throughout the United States.

Alison's background includes regional sales experience and management responsibility for large, global organizations where she was tasked with generating new business and achieving targeted growth plans using a consultative sales approach. She was also responsible for the training and management of local and regional sales teams. A Pittsburgh native, Alison attended Robert Morris University.

George Fechter
Board Member


As an experienced business leader, George Fechter has witnessed over 30-years of success from contractors partnered with LINC and TEGG. These companies service the Electrical and HVAC industries and acted as the model for LandOpt.

George was proud to serve as Board Chair and Vice Chair respectively for those companies, but he was always interested in finding another market in need of moving from the cottage industry to a managed process.

After six months of investigation George met Dan Sterns, a registered landscape architect and Penn State Professor, who introduced him to Dan Eichenlaub, owner of a Pittsburgh based landscape contracting company. LandOpt was founded with the mission of empowering a select group of highly qualified, regionally-based landscape contractors with a powerful portfolio of business systems to dramatically improve their growth, profitability and productivity.

Dan Stearns
Board Member



Dan Stearns has dedicated his professional career to enhancement of the exterior environment through quality landscape design, construction, and stewardship. As a registered landscape architect Dan has practiced in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and North Carolina. Since 1989 he has focused on elevating the level of professionalism in the landscape industry, as a Professor at Penn State University, educating and preparing students to be productive and creative leaders in the Green Industry.

Dan’s participation in the founding of LandOpt was an opportunity to continue his service to the industry, by providing contractors the necessary tools to grow their business and increase profitability. Through the application of efficient business and operation systems licensee companies are better positioned to compete and prosper. It is Dan’s view that professional, well-informed contractors create a healthier exterior environment that is both functional and aesthetically appealing.

Dan Eichenlaub
Board Chair



As the owner of a successful landscape contracting company for over 30-years, Dan Eichenlaub has experienced first-hand the growing pains of the Green Industry. Being involved in state and national trade associations has given Dan a unique perspective.

As landscape contractors seek to grow their businesses, he noticed that solutions are not readily available. There is tremendous potential for sales growth and profitability to companies that have the best systems. His participation in founding LandOpt was to provide the opportunity to make a significant leap in systems improvement and integration that he had sought over the years.

Now, licensee companies partnered with LandOpt are worth more, make more, and operate more smoothly with proven processes and systems. Dan’s involvement in LandOpt as Board Chair and licensee has helped him achieve his business goals and build a legacy.

Paul Mills
Board Member




As the Owner of Air Experts Heating and Cooling, with two locations in Raleigh and Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, Paul Mills has the unique experience and background to advise LandOpt as a Board Member.

Before purchasing Air Experts in April of 2009, Paul was General Manager for Service Experts in Raleigh for many years. Before he was promoted to General Manager, Paul spent several years as the Sales and Marketing Manager for that company, where he successfully positioned Service Experts, Inc. as the leader for HVAC services in that region.

Paul joined the LandOpt board during the first quarter of 2010 and his insight into service based businesses has consistently counseled LandOpt toward the path of sustainable growth and long-term success.

Dan Shirey
Board Member




President of Vulcan Heating and Air Conditioning Services in Birmingham, AL since 2002, Dan Shirey understands the common obstacles facing a sole proprietorship and has dedicated his career to helping small business owners and managers to mitigate these barriers and plan for growth.

Dan joined the LandOpt Board of Directors in 2017 with the goal of bringing the tools, trends, and best practices successfully implemented in the HVAC industry to the green industry. With a specialized focus on the design and implementation of operating systems and extensive expertise in and experience with organic and acquisitive growth, Dan works alongside the LandOpt team to help Licensee firms enhance, market, and promote their unique product and service solutions and position their businesses as leaders in their respective regions and the overall marketplace.
